spcfyBASE is the starting point for labs and customers alike. Beginning at the FASTQ level, uploads are validated and routed through a harmonised workflow so that heterogeneous runs become comparable. Real-time QC gives immediate feedback on each sample’s performance and flags potential issues early. Curated reference and primer databases underpin taxonomic assignment, improving transparency and reproducibility. Beside sequence data, BASE captures wetlab metadata (primers, extraction protocols) and ecological context (coordinates, habitat, methods), ensuring that downstream interpretation remains grounded. All files are archived on EU servers for long-term access. The outputs include QC summaries, assignment tables and clean visual overviews, with CSV/TSV/Excel/PDF exports for direct re-use in reports and publications. Marketplace hooks let labs publish services and deliver results through a unified interface; users can order from accredited partners and receive BASE-processed results instantly.

Where BASE finalises runs, INSIGHT connects them. Projects unify multiple orders and align them with metadata so users can explore biodiversity across campaigns, sites or treatments. Tools include OTU filtering by taxonomy or abundance, KRONA charts for hierarchical views, stacked bars and areas for compositional change, and line charts for temporal trends. Assignments are linked to an evolving OTU database and can refresh automatically. Roadmap features add spatial overlays and a project-wide flagging system. Labs can expose these interactive views to customers to reduce repeated re-analysis and improve communication.
